Tabata Tandem + Snatches

Okay, this workout was a doozie!  It demanded both strength and stamina, and my legs and heart can testify to it after resting for a bit now.

There were two phases:

Phase 1: Tabata Tandem: Push-ups and squats

8 rounds, for 8 minutes total:

20 seconds of push-ups

10 seconds of rest

20 seconds of squats

10 seconds of rest

Phase 2 (continuing with the kettlebell snatch training) with a 53# kettlebell:

7-minute countdown:

8 snatches – Left

8 snatches – Right

By the end I was really struggling to maintain proper form, and was really depending on my legs to provide the burst needed to get that bell overhead to full lockout, but my legs were tired from the squats.  I’m really looking forward to a recovery day tomorrow!

  1. Worked on Snatches focusing on form then on to the WOD. Finished in 14:01. I used 65lbs for the push press which were still lglcaenhing for me. Then used the yellow KB. Today, I got two consecutive pull-ups for the first time! Trying to get to 5 so I can start kipping. PS Sean RX’d yet another WOD today at 6AM!

  2. I (Sonja) did phase 1 of this workout on Tuesday, and I today (Saturday) is the first day I don’t feel it anymore. It was a good hurt.
