Metabolic Conditioning and Some Sore Legs!

Yesterday I worked out with the ladies and, as usual, I did the exact same workout, but with a heavier kettlebell.  I used a 53# bell, Sonja a 20 pounder and Kim a 15 pounder.

Workout:

Five rounds of two minutes apiece:

15 swings

15 goblet squats

15 pushups

When you’re done working, you get to rest for the remainder of the round.  Each round’s work took about 1:15, so we got about 45 seconds’ rest at the end of each round.  As I anticipated, the hardest part was the goblet squats.  For the rest of the day, my legs were wobbly and today I’m a bit sore in the usual places as when I do lots of squats (or squats with weight): the glutes, hamstrings, quads and lower back.

Great workout.  Not too much, but a productive ten minutes.  Ideal for my variety day in between clean and presses and swings/snatches.  Felt great.
