Costco Grocery Price List Update

This is the first time many verdant staples went up in price, and all things tomato took a turn in our favor.  Actually many prices dropped, and many stayed flat.

In my wandering, along with checking out prices, I also found a few fun foodie finds.  So here are a few of my favorite new foods at Costco, and no one can guarantee we’ll see them again.

Their samples worked for me on this one.  I am not a huge balsamic vinegar fan, but we do keep it on hand.  Well at a hip new artisan pizza restaurant we dined at last summer in Pullman, Washington, Porch Light Pizza, we had a life-changing balsamic reduction on our pizza.  It was oh so good. Then I encountered this Nanna Pia’s Balsamic Glaze in sample form.  It’s our new favorite way to adorn our salads in tandem with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper. I bought one bottle one week and then two more the next week because with a specialty item like this, I was afraid Costco’d stop carrying it.  You faithful Costco shoppers know what I’m talking about.

Balsamic Vinegar Reduction

I haven’t used cacao powder yet, but I’ve bought some. This cacao powder is organic and fair trade.  $10.69 for 2 pounds.

Organic Cacao Powder

This is a new find I haven’t tried yet either, Organic Sweet Potato Chips.  Sounds like a healthier alternative to the classics potato chip.  $5.99 for a big ol’ bag.

Sweet Potato Chips

These grain-free bars look interesting, also a new product.  $16.99 for 16 bars.

I’ve not yet jumped on the riced cauliflower bandwagon, but we love roasted cauliflower! What do you think? Do you like it as a rice alternative?  $7.99 for an organic bag.

Riced Cauliflower

I know these Kirkland Signature Nut Bars have been around for a while now, but it wanted to feature them because they are a quality and more frugal alternative to the KIND Bar.  I alternate between keeping a box of these and Cavemen Bars in the back of our car to avoid a fast food drive thru when we are on the run.  $16.89 for a box of 30!  About half the price of the brand name.
