The kids are now helping us come up with different recipes for our Vitamix.  It’s great fun to include our kids in the healthier creations, especially because they come up with ideas we wouldn’t!  Abbie just turned five and has been itching to come up with her own creation.  Try it, and let Abbie know what you think!

Abbie’s Kickin’ Sorbet

Author Sonja

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen pineapple
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen marionberries
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 T flaxseed oil optional
  • 1 banana
  • handful or 2 of ice

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients except the bananas and ice until thoroughly blended.
  2. Add the bananas and ice and thoroughly blend.
  3. Serve immediately.

The Verdict:

This was a great combination!  The lime definitely adds a nice little kick.  Abbie wanted to use 1 whole lemon and 1 whole lime, but Jonathan just used half for each, and that was a perfect amount!  It was very refreshing.  Great job, Abbie!!
