Since we’ve been consuming more produce with the Vitamix, I’ve wanted to create a recipe that would combine fruits and veggies without really tasting the veggies.  It’s  easy to hide spinach and carrots in smoothies, but we are having a harder time with other vegetables.  We know pineapple is great for sweetness.  I still want to create a green smoothie that has 4 or more vegetables without tasting like there are any veggies.   Kale isn’t always that strong.  Any suggestions?

Ingredients

  • -1 cup water
  • -generous handful of spinach
  • -2 apples green preferably
  • -2 kiwi peeled
  • -1 cup pineapple
  • -1 pear
  • -1 banana peeled
  • -1/2 celery stalk
  • -1/2 lime peeled
  • -1 T flaxseed oil optional
  • -handful of ice

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients until thoroughly blended.
  2. Serve immediately.

The Verdict: I love how creamy and sweet this smoothie is.  I could taste the celery a little bit, but it wasn’t bad at all.  If you don’t like celery, omit it.  What are your favorite green smoothie additions?
