On Friday I invited a friend from church, Forrest, to hang out and do some pull-ups, pushups and squats. It was a variety day; I was planning to work out today (Saturday), so I didn’t want to get too crazy. It was the first time that I’d exercised with Forrest, so I was not familiar with his fitness level or abilities, so we decided to go “easy,” and with good variety. For that sort of practice, there’s nothing like the pull-up/pushup/squat combination. So that’s what we did. Meanwhile, Sonja and her friend Jolie did the same workout, but did kettlebell rows instead of the pull-ups (5 left and 5 right).
Workout:
Ten rounds:
5 pull-ups
10 pushups
15 squats
Good variety: an upper body (pull-ups), lower body (squats) and core/upper body (push-ups) movement. Nothing crazy, but great skill practice, and I felt good a day later.
