How much fun we have with different and new fruit that come into season! We have started enjoying nectarines around the Pacific Northwest the last couple of weeks.
We had some oranges and pineapple we had to use quickly, so I thought they would make a great base for a new smoothie along with these great nectarines!
Pineapple Nectarine Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 nectarines
- 1 cup pineapple
- 1 orange
- 1 carrot
- handful of spinach
- 1 banana
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup ice
Instructions
-
Blend all ingredients until thoroughly blended.
-
Serve immediately.
The Verdict:
I threw in spinach to get some greens in, but you can make this smoothie without. Really, if you’ve done any smoothie making, all ingredients are optional. Coming up with a different flavor for us often takes us trying to get use some produce before it goes bad and becomes unusable. The first smoothie I had without banana, and the second I did add it in. Stir it if it starts to separate.
This was a great smoothie flavor combination, and our little (now three-year-old) Joshua especially loved it and kept asking for more and more!
