We haven’t shared many smoothies with yogurt in them, but Jonathan likes to put yogurt in for a shot of protein and to make the smoothie more filling. He’s even thinking about going on a smoothie fast for a week.  We’ve also talked about having a fruit smoothie for breakfast and a green smoothie for lunch.  We’ll see.  JSarr concocted this smoothie for a post-workout jolt.

The Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup of plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
  • 3 oranges, peeled
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • handful frozen marionberries
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 1 apple, quartered
  • 1 pear
  • 1 T flaxseed oil, optional

Double Berry Smoothie

The Directions:

  • Blend all ingredients except the bananas and ice until thoroughly blended.
  • Add the bananas and ice and thoroughly blend.
  • Serve immediately.
