4 Week No-Spending Challenge Update #3
So I recently just wrapped up my 4 Week No-Spending Challenge. It’s always hard while I’m in the middle of it because I am not replacing what I am using, which just goes against my grain. I believe part of what helps the Sarrs keep our grocery budget in check is buying something before you run out of it, so you don’t end up making a quick dash to a close little grocer with way higher prices. It cuts impulse shopping.
And yet, a no-spending challenge is SUCH a great exercise. It’s an exercise in discipline since you spend less. It’s an exercise in stewardship since you are forced to use what is right in your pantry and freezer. And don’t we all neglect some of those long lost foods in the back of the freezer once in a while?
So if you are interested in reading about the numbers and results of the 4 Week No-Spending Challenge, head on over to Stacy Makes Cents for the results. I also had one cheat that I talk about, but I bet you may have done it too if you would’ve been in the same situation. Let me know what you think. And I think I could have even spent less money based on what I learned.
Thanks for checking in. Are you going to take a 4 week no-spending challenge? Here are my parameters.

You are so inspiring Sonja! I struggle with buying too much produce too at times and hate to toss it. It’s such a balancing act! Thanks for sharing your tricks!
