Whole Wheat Waffles~a delicious breakfast treat!
Are you trying to healthify your recipes, especially your sweeter recipes like waffles? This is a great recipe if you are trying to transition out of using white flour. True change happens slowly, so if you can use substitute half of the white flour you would normally use with wheat flour consistently, you’ll find yourself on the journey to healthier eating. I can’t even tell half of this recipe is made with whole wheat flour. May be my taste buds are changing.
This recipe is adapted from the Vitamix Whole Foods Recipe Book. We don’t sell the Vitamix, but may be we should since we are in love with it and can’t stop talking about it. It seems to make almost everything we do, simpler. It makes eating healthier, easier. It makes everything we make, faster. Don’t get me wrong, there is still a place for the slow cooker. But I do love the Vitamix’s multi-tasking feature of cleaning itself in less than two minutes while I am cleaning other parts of the kitchen. It is worth the monetary investment in our health! We mixed the batter in the blended super fast! This is miniscule, but I also love being able to pour the batter right out of the blender as there is less mess.
This recipe is my new favorite waffle recipe! Next time I may try it with old fashioned oats grounded into a flour instead of the white flour to completely eliminate the white flour.
