Learn a lesson from my mistake. In the fall Kmart had these shoes on sale for $7.50 a pair. I bought Ellie two pairs because they were so cheap. I figured that I’d rather buy two pairs for cheap rather than spend the money to buy some good black leather shoes that would last longer. Well guess what? In less than a week they came back scuffed. Like unrepairable, the plastic was rubbed off the shoes, never the same again, scuffed. I was not ignorant to think it would never happen, but I couldn’t believe it happened so fast.
The quick fix for shoes: use a permanent marker to fill in scuff marks. Now permanent markers come in a rainbow of colors. I have also done this to clothes that have bleach marks on them. Just color them in. So easy. It’s not perfect, but the error will be less glaring and you can get just a little more use out of your items.
My lesson learned: pay money for good shoes. We save money in some of our areas in our budget so we can spend in other areas. Spend the money on good shoes that will last and fit well.

Great tip! My kiddos are still little so it’s been easy to find good shoes resale. I have a feeling that will stop once they get a bit bigger. Thanks for the encouragement to choose good quality. I’d rather have one or two pairs that last than a whole buch that fall apart!
