Here is the latest in my Pie-Inspired Smoothie Recipes, the Key Lime Pie Smoothie. Have you ever had a Key Lime Pie? If I have, it have been a few decades, and my memory is really fuzzy. I thought the flavors of the key limes would make a great smoothie since they are so crisp and fresh.
The Verdict: I was wowed and shocked about how much I enjoyed this recipe!! I also made it once with lemon juice instead of the key limes since I didn’t have fresh key limes on hand. I love how the base of the recipe is spinach, and you can’t even tell!
Pictures updated 12/13** It’s been a year, and this is the smoothie that we have made the most in the last year-a true family favorite!
Key Lime Pie Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups organic spinach

- 1 T honey to sweeten or 1 pitted date for vegan
- 3/4 cup ice if needed to chill
- 1 real whipped cream optional
- graham cracker pieces to garnish gluten-free, optional
Instructions
-
Blend and serve immediately!
-
You can garnish with granola or crushed graham crackers (make gluten free if needed) and real whipped cream.

I love that your smoothies could pass for a decadent dessert, yet they are brimming with real food ingredients 🙂 It’s been quite a while since I’ve had key lime pie, but I certainly see this smoothie in my near future! I want to try all your smoothie recipes and because of that I’d love to invite you to start linking up to a link-up I host, the Weekend Wholefood Blender Party. It’s Sunday link-up to post smoothies, juice, teas, fermented beverages and any other homemade drinks. I can see you love link-up parties as much as me and I would love to see you there in the future 🙂 Cheers!
